My experience is somewhere in between your own pre-screening assessment. “Too polished” is a great way to put it and although it suffered from a lot of mistakes, if you’re a fan of the original and I’m assuming gore, you might enjoy it.

Really unsure. I love the original. I’m a huge fan of that gritty 16MM look. This very well could be an excellent film, but I really have little desire to see it.

Again I love that 16MM look of the original. The Last House remake while not a bad film is far too polished and that’s the vibe I get from this.

I just couldn’t get into it. It wasn’t overly bad, just in comparison to other horror flicks. It doesn’t measure up at all! Once you’ve seen the top the genre has to offer, it’s becomes harder to appreciate other attempts. What did you like about it?
