Top 10 Movie Bromances

I LOVE YOU MAN

Who doesn’t love a good bromance? Exactly, no one! That’s precisely why I compiled this week’s top 10. Now, granted, bromances are usually a terrific source of uncomfortable situations and bad decisions. However, they’ve also given us some of the most iconic, hilarious, and sweet moments in cinematic history. Without the bromance, Frodo wouldn’t have made it to Mordor, Andy would have never tunnelled out of Shawshank, and Fight Club would have never existed. We owe a lot to the bromance and I think it’s about time we showed our appreciation in true cinephile form, With a top 10!!

Oh, and just so no one flips out by the end of this list, I Love You, Man will not be featured, it is just a header image…just a header image.

Also guys, don’t forget, I know I say this every week, but this will be the last time. Every top 10 is compiled and ranked by myself and no one else. If you feel the sudden urge to rage over the list, point all hate towards me, got it?

Let’s get started!!!

10: Harry Potter and Ron Weasley (Harry Potter series).

Harry and Ron have been together for eight films, eight!! That is easily more than any other bromance on this list, so naturally I had to include them. Whether they were dealing with Snape, girl trouble, or he who shall not be named, Ron and Harry never parted each other’s side.

9: Seth and Evan (Superbad).

Seth and Evan are your typical pairing of high-school seniors trying to score before their adventure together ends. Throwing one last party before heading off to university, Seth and Evan have one of the wildest and craziest experiences of anyone on this list.

8: Buzz Lightyear and Woody (Toy Story trilogy).

If I didn’t include Buzz and Woody on this top 10, my inner child would have kicked my but. Constantly saving one another from seemingly inevitable doom, Buzz and Woody are true pals.

7: Sal and Dean (On the Road).

I know many of you won’t agree with this choice, but honestly. These two have essentially been around the world together and back, experiencing everything by each other’s side, so I am keeping them on here. Plus, I really love this movie.

6: John and Jeremy (Wedding Crashers).

What do I need to say about these two? Crashing wedding after wedding just for a little action. It might be a little typical, but John and Jeremy are one of the funniest duos on this list, if not the funniest.

Wedding Crashers

5: Tyler and ??? (Fight Club).

Okay now, we are getting into the good stuff. Tyler and The Narrator will literally smash anything in their way. Taking one another to the brink of disaster and violence. The ending for this particular pairing does not bode well.

4: Red and Andy (The Shawshank Redemption).

Serving life sentences right beside one another, Red and Andy make the time fly together. Even when they are apart, they never stop thinking about each other.

3: Shaun and Ed (Shaun of the Dead), Danny and Nicholas (Hot Fuzz), Clive and Graeme (Paul), Gary and Andrew (The World’s End).

What haven’t these two been through? Somewhat surviving the zombie apocalypse, avoiding the FBI with an alien, taking down a corrupt town as police offers, and soon to battle the end of the world. These two know what it means to be best buds.

2: Kirk and Spock (Star Trek series).

To the edge of the abyss and back again, Kirk and Spock have seen it all.

1: Sam and Frodo (Lord of the Rings trilogy).

The ultimate bromance. Constantly saving one another from every kind of evil you can think of. Sam and Frodo undertake the most arduous journey ever conceived.

As always guys, if you think I’ve overlooked a bromance or feel that I had a duo ranked that shouldn’t be, feel free to comment below. Have a great weekend!!

  1. Damn, no Holmes and Watson? lol :P

    • Honestly, I cannot stand the Sherlock Holmes films with Robert Downey Jr, sorry :). However, the television program “Sherlock” is possibly my favourite show at the moment. I absolutely love Cumberbatch and Freeman.

  2. Honorable mention: Forrest Gump and Bubba :D

  3. It’s so funny, I didn’t even know what the names of those characters in Wedding Crashers were because at this point I just think of Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn as playing themselves in every movie they do. And I think Jason Sudeikis could be heading down that same route, but I hope I’m wrong because I do find him funny.

  4. Been a long time since I saw it but Good Will Hunting? Brian’s Song was an old school bromance too. Harry and Ron is true ha. I was even at the studios recently. Bonus point call on The Shawshank Redemption.Wouldn’t have occurred to me at all!
